He is a trained kidney and liver transplant surgeon and his interests include expanding access to transplant services to health care centers in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>His current projects are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Development of a dialysis kidney transplant center at University of Calabar Medical school, Calabar, Nigeria<br \/>\n\u2022 Development of an\u00a0AIM\u00a0Health &amp; Fitness Center at the\u00a0Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria<br \/>\n\u2022 Volunteer urologist with\u00a0<a style=\"text-align: center;\" href=\"https:\/\/medicsonamission.org\/\">Medics on a Mission, Inc.<\/a><br \/>\n\u2022 Annual urological trip to St. Ann&#8217;s Bay Hospital, St. Ann&#8217;s Bay, Jamaica<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Ijeoma Nnodim Opara, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-127\" src=\"http:\/\/www.africansinmedicine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ijeoma-official-picture-260x300.png\" alt=\"ijeoma official picture\" width=\"203\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.africansinmedicine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ijeoma-official-picture-260x300.png 260w, https:\/\/www.africansinmedicine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/ijeoma-official-picture.png 267w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Dr. Opara is an assistant professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine with joint appointments in the departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has an MPH in Global Health and Population from the Harvard School of Public Health and her primary career interests are academic medicine in resource-poor settings and health systems strengthening.<\/p>\n<p>Her current projects are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Leading AIM&#8217;s response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. She has an MPH in Family and Community Health from the Harvard School of Public health and has a keen interest in child and maternal health.<\/p>\n<p>Her current projects are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Teaching and\u00a0evaluation\u00a0of the\u00a0Helping Babies Breathe curriculum (basic neonatal resuscitation for resource-poor areas)\u00a0in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Kwame Torian Easterling MD, MPH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-126\" src=\"http:\/\/www.africansinmedicine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/8626294.jpg\" alt=\"8626294\" width=\"277\" height=\"283\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Easterling is an Assistant Professor at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the Departments of Family Medicine\u00a0and Preventative\u00a0Medicine &amp; Community Health.
