Dr. Ekwenna is an attending urologist at Riverside Medical Center in Chicago, IL, with affiliations at Rush University Health System and University of Miami Transplant Institute. He is a trained kidney and liver transplant surgeon and his interests include expanding access to transplant services to health care centers in Africa.<\/p>\n

His current projects are:
\n\u2022 Development of a dialysis kidney transplant center at University of Calabar Medical school, Calabar, Nigeria
\n\u2022 Development of an\u00a0AIM\u00a0Health & Fitness Center at the\u00a0Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria
\n\u2022 Volunteer urologist with\u00a0Medics on a Mission, Inc.<\/a>
\n\u2022 Annual urological trip to St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica<\/p>\n

Ijeoma Nnodim Opara, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Opara is an assistant professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine with joint appointments in the departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is also the Global Health Director of the Internal Medicine and MedPeds residency programs.<\/p>\n

Her current projects are:
\n\u2022 Developing global health curriculum for internal medicine and MedPeds residents
\n\u2022 World Health Student Organization medical mission Physician Leader – Haiti<\/p>\n

Nicole Cooper, MD, MPH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Cooper is a fourth year resident physician at University of Miami (Jackson Memorial Hospital) in the Department of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has an MPH in Global Health and Population from the Harvard School of Public Health and her primary career interests are academic medicine in resource-poor settings and health systems strengthening.<\/p>\n

Her current projects are:
\n\u2022 Leading AIM’s response to the Ebola epidemic in West Africa. (click\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0to view)<\/span>
\n\u2022 School health access at the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage in Trotor, Ghana
\n\u2022 Research into the use of evidence based medicine in resource-poor settings, Monrovia, Liberia<\/p>\n

Imani Anwisye-Mashele, MD, MPH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Anwisye is a third year resident physician at St. Louis University School of Medicine in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. She has an MPH in Family and Community Health from the Harvard School of Public health and has a keen interest in child and maternal health.<\/p>\n

Her current projects are:
\n\u2022 Teaching and\u00a0evaluation\u00a0of the\u00a0Helping Babies Breathe curriculum (basic neonatal resuscitation for resource-poor areas)\u00a0in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Kwame Torian Easterling MD, MPH<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Easterling is an Assistant Professor at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the Departments of Family Medicine\u00a0and Preventative\u00a0Medicine & Community Health. He is also the Faculty Director at the\u00a0Student Family Health Care Center and the Assistant Clerkship Director for the 3rd year Family Medicine Clerkship.<\/p>\n

His current projects are:
\n\u2022 Global Health Faculty Advisor, Global Health Alliance at New Jersey Medical School
\n\u2022 Medical Evaluator for Asylum Seekers
\n\u2022 Volunteer faculty attending for rotating residents and medical student with theHEARTT Foundation<\/a>\u00a0in Monrovia, Liberia
\n\u2022 Director of Medicine\/Board Member for\u00a0Young Doctors DC<\/a>, a medical enrichment program for young men of color<\/p>\n

His research interests are:
\n\u2022 Developing Family Medicine Teaching Programs in Developing Countries\/Developing Innovative teaching tools in global health medical education<\/p>\n

George Ozoude, MD<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Ozoude i<\/span>s an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UT Health).<\/p>\n

His current projects are:
